The origin of the name comes from a twisting and turning holy path found in Jordan. SiQ is heavily influenced by music from the far reaches of the world, with 'far' being a relative term. Formed about 2 years ago in 2003, the sounds include; the irrepressible electric basslines of Ting, subtly banging of the drums by Gary, Shum's incredible vocal chord flexing and Bao Zha's unflappable manners on any fancy guitar he picks up. The band looks forward to recording a project under the peerless direction of Rebel Studio. The project they hope to express will conspicuously be a reflection of our contrasting views of society, pieced arduously together and hopefully be well received. This harvest of their labour will be presented early 2006. It will be followed by the temporal, physical exodus of the lead vocalist Shum, who will be doing a mandatory stilt in to the armed forces. With that said, SiQ will continue breathing through the internet and have the one-off gigs here and there, whenever Shum gets a break from boot camp. Stay tuned, the band is labouring at the aforementioned project and will be performing at various locations around the islands of Hong Kong.
SiQ has staged many a memorable show all around Asia's City. This has included bars like the defunct Chicago Blues, youth/community centres, the much-celebrated Warehouse, various school campuses, cafes, and music festivals. In addition, SiQ has also been invited overseas to places like China and Taiwan to perform, not meaning they actually went of course.
